THE PEACHES WE GROW

Yellow Peaches

The yellow peach, known for its fuzzy skin, becomes ripe around the summer months. Their red and gold color surrounds their juicy, yellow flesh, which is a perfect combination of a sweet and tart flavor. The juicy fruit contains a pit in the middle, which can either be clingstone or freestone. Freestone peaches allow for the flesh to fall right off the pit. These peaches are great for canning, freezing, and baking. They are available later in the peach season. Clingstone peaches do not come off the pit as easy. These peaches are good for eating, but not the best for baking and freezing since they are harder to cut off the pit. These are available early in the peach season

Ripening around the summer season, white peaches are great for eating. The juicy fruit contains a pit in the middle, which can either be clingstone or freestone. Freestone peach is when the fruit will fall right off the pit. These peaches are great for canning, freezing and eating. They are available in the later season. Clingstone peach is when the fruit does not come off the pit as easy. these peaches are good for eating, but not the best for canning and freezing. These are available in the earlier season.

Sweet Dream Peaches

The Sweet Dream Peach is a combination of both the Yellow and White Peaches. It is fuzzy, juicy, and sweet like both other peaches. When you bite into the peach, you will find the juicy, yellow flesh of the yellow peach, but it is even sweeter than the white peach.

Nectarine

Nectarines are essentially the same as peaches except they don't have peach fuzz. Rather, they have skin similar to that of an apple. Like peaches, they come in white and yellow varieties. Nectarines are typically ready to be harvested between late July and early September. They are best eaten when on the soft side when they are super sweet and juicy.

Apricot

An apricot is a small, round fruit with a velvety, golden-orange skin and a soft, juicy flesh. The flavor is sweet with a slightly tart undertone, especially when fully ripe. Inside, it contains a single hard pit or stone, which is inedible. Apricots are part of the stone fruit family (like peaches, plums, and cherries) and are known for their fragrant aroma and rich nutritional content, including vitamin A, vitamin C, fiber, and antioxidants. They can be eaten fresh, dried, or used in cooking and baking—such as in jams, pastries, and savory dishes.
